Listening is an essential life skill, but many parents aren’t aware that it’s also a learned skill. Help your little one learn to listen the fun way with Sounds of the City! Join Eardrop the bunny and his friend The Postie as they deliver the boxes around the city.
This engaging story includes a listening clue every ten seconds or so. Listen with your child and identify the sounds of a truck, a fire engine siren, a bicycle bell, seagulls, a plane and many more. Because your child is reminded to listen actively, Sounds of the City will help your little one improve their concentration span. In addition, the last track on the CD is an interactive recap game.
Traditionally, children’s media products have focused on visual learning. Sounds of the City will help to build your child’s vocabulary and improve their communication skills so they can better understand the world around them. Let’s face it: busy parents sometimes just don’t have time to sit down with their children and explain every detail from an educational book. Sounds of the City will keep your child happy and help them to learn, without relying on the television.
Sounds of the City is recommended for preschool children aged 1-4. The CD comes with a booklet.
Along with the rest of Eardrop’s Journey’s, Sounds of the City was developed and recorded in New Zealand. The CDs were developed with a team of educators (including a Speech Language Therapist, Early Childhood Teacher, and Early Intervention Teacher) in line with the New Zealand Early Childhood Curriculum.
